Chapters Plus
Given the book’s almost unmanageably broad scope, many relevant points or explanations were omitted from each chapter. Many sentences could have been expanded into entire paragraphs, serving as appetizers for further study by interested readers. However, not everyone has time, effort, or inclination to pursue this independently. Therefore, I will gradually supplement the book’s content, making that section of the website dynamic.
Each chapter may have its own structure, including favorite quotations, reference materials, and suggested discussion questions. However, the pace of introducing new material will vary. I want to ensure that the material is worthy of inclusion as I gradually unpack my broad and condensed thoughts about contemporary church life.
Two chapters in particular will feature supplemental essays: Chapter 9, titled “The Great Omission,” and Chapter 10, titled “The Seduction of Partisan Politics,” both of which are significant topics. I continue to learn valuable lessons and gain new insights, some of which I believe are worth sharing.
As a reminder, for those interested in asking questions about the book’s content, the Connect segment of this website welcomes readers or listeners to submit specific questions to me for my response. A separate part of this website, Q&A/Feedback, will be updated with questions, responses, and Kindle highlights that indicate which sentences have been underlined for emphasis.
